Well check one New Years resolution off the list, because I finished the National Race for the Cure this morning!! The final race clock said 48 minutes (and some seconds that I can't remember at the moment), but with the delay in actually crossing the start line I think its closer to 46-47. Go me! I was particularly happy to see how well I did in the first two miles. From where I started, I'm really happy that I've improved that much. It makes me look forward to beating that time at the Women's Distance Festival later in the month.
Washington's Race for the Cure seems to be have a history of cold, rainy, dismal weather, and today's conditions were no exception. Despite the chill, it wasn't nearly as wet as last year, with maybe a slight drizzle for most of the race. It didn't start coming down in earnest until I was walking back to the Metro station, and by that time I didn't care. :)
After a long, crowded Metro ride home, I indulged in a very long hot shower, then promptly fell asleep on my couch. All in a days work. ;)
