My name is Katy, and I started The OnGoing Effort more than ten years ago — before the word “blog” existed to describe it — as a way of keeping my family up-to-date on my adventures as I went off to college and moved away from my hometown. It has since turned into so many things: a journal, a photo gallery, a test bed for new ideas and new technical skills, and a place for me to look back at where life has taken me in this last decade.
There have been periods of dormancy (for which I heartily apologize) tempered with periods of prolific writing and image-making, and through it all I have had the love and support of cherished friends and family who provide much of the inspiration for the work that I do here. Thanks guys!
The site
I did not design this site. A very talented guy named Allan Cole did, and I am using one of his excellent WordPress themes. Why, you ask? Because designing for other people is infinitely easier than designing for myself! And I wanted to get back to blogging sometime in this decade. :)
